Chapter One: Someone in the Kitchen
My name is Riley and I am ten. My dads name is Salvador, and my moms name is Bethiny. I have a brother; his name is Ben. But what I am bout to tell you is going to freak you out
..
My dad and I were out in the front yard. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and everything was great. We were playing Frisbee; it was fun! But I couldnt reach the Frisbee. I said to my dad, Time out. I ran to the front door as my dad followed. We went into the house. We sat down on the couch. I could smell the fragrance of bacon. I went into the kitchen to see what my mom was cooking. I saw something on the floor, and I knelt down to see what it was; but it was only mud. Then all of a sudden, I couldnt believe my eyes. Right then and there, in front of my eyes was a shadow, with dripping globs of mud. I ran into the living room. Theres something in there, I screamed! My dad said, no, your just imagining things. Lets go see what is going on in the kitchen, he said. When we got there, we found my mom cooking bacon.
Chapter Two: Not Just Imagination
I was nervous, and mad at the same time. I was mad at my dad because he didnt believe me. I was nervous that The Glob was going to appear again. Oh well; I wanted to go outside. Stay right out front, said my mom. I went outside as Ben followed me. All of the sudden, Ben and I were in total darkness. By this time, I was horrified! I couldnt move at all. The next thing I knew, I was in a room. I called out to see if anyone was there. A piercing fear came over me. Ben and I gasped in horror as we saw our parents chained to the wall! Now my dad believed that what I saw in the kitchen was real! Ben and Riley, said my dad, get us out of here! Mom and dad were covered in mud. Right before our eyes! What happened next is even more horrifying!
Chapter Three: The Victory
As The Mud Blob threw his muddy claws toward me, I ducked and ran. As I ran, I heard the sound of splashing water. I tripped over a bucket! All of the sudden, I had an idea. Whenever my shoes get muddy, I clean them with water. I looked in the bucket, and there was still some water left in the bottom. My idea was to pick up the bucket, and throw the rest of the water at The Mud Glob. As I fought off The Glob, Ben was unleashing our parents. I poured the water over The Mud Glob, and he slowly melted into a puddle of mud! Great job, said my mom, dad and Ben. I ran over to my family and hugged them. Then we walked home from the small room we had been in; it wasnt far. We were certain that there were no more Mud Globs; and I felt great!!!!
