Public Use Computers
The St. Joseph County Public Library provides patrons with access to computer technology at the Main Library and all 8 of its branches. From desktop computers to laptops, PC (Windows) computers to Macintosh, we allow the public the opportunity to surf the Internet, check e-mail, use word processing software, and much more.

Main Library:
63 public computers located on all three levels of the library. Document stations with software, scanners and floppy or Zip disk drives are available in the Sights and Sounds Department.

Centre Township Branch:
33 public computers with 10 laptop compters. Each laptop is equipped with wireless technology that allows patrons to access the Internet from anywhere inside the library and in the courtyard. Document stations with software, scanners and floppy or Zip disk drives are available at the Centre Township Branch.

Francis Branch:
19 public computers with 10 laptops containing the wireless technology anywhere inside the library. Document stations with software, scanners and floppy or Zip disk drives are available at the Francis Branch.

Tutt, Western, LaSalle, and River Park Branches:
5 public computer stations with internet access and software.

Lakeville Branch:
1 public computer station with internet access and software, and 4 laptop computers with wireless technology.

North Liberty Branch:
1 public computer station with internet access and software, and 4 laptop computers with wireless technology.

Pharos Sign Up Infomation:
To make better use of our computer resources and provide equitable access, we have installed the Pharos Sign Up System. Pharos will provide better control to the Library’s leased databases, as required by vendor contracts.

Public Internet Classes:
If you are just beginning to learn about the wonderful world of technology, sign up for one of our many Internet classes. These classes have been created for the needs of the beginner and are offered at many of the branches throughout the library system. Pick up a schedule the next time you come into any of our branches.
