Allen MuralEntrance to Storytime Room by Artist, Kim Hoffmann: Entrance to Storytime Room: As a youth Ms. Hoffman was fascinated by the animal world and this is reflected in the mural which uses animal imagery as metaphor for human relationships and concerns.ln researching the project, she became interested in the art of carousel animals.The mural, painted in acrylic, depicts unfettered carousel animals, in a place free from worldly concerns. With anticipation and enthusiasm, they march toward the Storytime Room where they look forward to a magical experience.

Kim Hoffmann was born and raised in South Bend and graduated from Riley High School. She studied painting, drawing and design under Harold Zisla at IUSB. Ms. Hoffmann has participated in exhibitions at the Evansville Museum of Art, the Midwest Museum of American Art in Elkhart, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and the Beverly Art Center, Chicago. She was nominated in 1993 for the YWCA's "Women of the Year in Arts" award.
